Walking holidays in Scotland

Located in the centre of the Tweed Valley, Peebles is a great central location for Scottish walking holidays and for exploring the countryside by foot.

If you fancy a short stroll, why not head along to the Pirn Hill Fort Trail up to the summit of a 2,000 year old fort and take in the breath-taking views over the valley.

For the a leisurely stroll by the river Tweed, head along the Leithen Water Circuit or to Neidpath Castle.

For those looking for a longer walk, the Glentress circuit from Peebles takes you through Glentress forest where you can watch the mountain bikers on the bike trails. There is also a café and visitor centre if you fancy a bit to eat before heading back. In addition, Cademuir Hill Forts and the Janet’s Brae both offer great views over the valley.

For the more experienced climber, Broad Law, Pykestone Hill and Drumelzier Law and the Dun Rig horseshoe all offer extensive views over the Border countryside and are well worth the climb.
